Tutorial Session
Tutorial session
The SISA 2013 holds three tutorial sessions for students. We treat the following topics:
- English Presentation Skills
- Complex Numbers and Wireless Communication
- Information Retrieval by Data-Embedding Technique to Printed Images Considering Mobile Devices
This Tutorial sessions is sponsored by IEICE Tokai Section.
Date
Sept. 30, 2013 (Monday)
Place
Aichi Industry & Labor Center (WINC AICHI) Small-hall (5F)
Organizer
Prof. Hiroshi Yasukawa (Aichi Prefectural University, Japan)
Prof. Muneo Yamada (Meijo University, Japan)
Session Chair
Prof. Yoshihiro Ito (Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan)
Session 1 (13:00-14:00)
Title: Presentation Skills in English
Speaker: Prof. Shoaib Bhuiyan
Department of Medical Information Science, Suzuka University of Medical Science, Japan
Abstract:
This tutorial helps a research student, who is a future researcher, in building his/her skills of oral presentation at an international conference.
Session 2 (14:15-15:15)
Title: Complex Numbers as a Basis of Wireless Communications
Speaker: Prof. Yukihiro Kamiya
School of Information Science and Technology, Aichi Prefectural University, Japan
Abstract:
The complex number is indispensable for understanding the wireless communication technology. However, it is difficult to utilize a complex number in the mathematical field for the study of wireless communication.
This tutorial is aimed at learning the essence of the complex number and that of the wireless communication; it begins by showing the reason for the use of a complex number and then discusses the mean of it.
Session 3 (15:30-16:30)
Title: Information Retrieval by Data-Embedding Technique to Printed Images Considering Mobile Devices
Speaker: Prof. Mitsuji Muneyasu
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Kansai University, Japan
Abstract:
The information embedding to printed images for data retrieving has attracted attention. This technique has been based on digital watermarking. In a technical view, the severe influence of printers or image capture devices should be considered. Especially some measure for geometrical deformation and lens distortion should be required. In
this tutorial, we will present the overview for this technique, which includes the application, the current status for commercial services, the technological issues and several proposed techniques.
Fee for Tutorial Session
Any student is admitted free of charge. However, if you require one booklet of the tutorial, please register the tutorial according the following.
